The school
raised £330 with the children's silver collection.

Zara, Yasmin and Chloe will raise a massive £170 if they
keep silent all day....this will be a challenge for

WhitCo.Nect E-Safety meeting
Many
thanks to those parents who attended the e-safety
meeting at Alderman Jacobs this week. Parents found the
evening informative and thought provoking.

Nursery
The
Nursery children have enjoyed finding out about
Diwali. We have made Rangoli patterns, made and
tasted barfi and gone on a coloured diva lamp trail.

The
Diwali dancing was fun and exciting.

Famous People Day
Year 2 had a fantastic time on Famous People Day when
everyone dressed up as a famous person of their choice.

There were lots of fun activities throughout the day,
including a catwalk and quiz.

Whittlesey Remembrance Day Parade
Toby
and Kiera supported the school brilliantly at this
weekend's Remembrance Day Parade. Well done to
both of them.

Sponsored Event & Tea Party
The
children all successfully achieved the 6 Step
Challenge and celebrated with a lovely tea party
this week at school.

Lots
of mums, dads, aunties, uncles, nannies and grandads
all came to join in the fun. Fingers crossed we will
have raised enough money to buy the children a
fantastic outdoor role play area. Thank you
very much for your support.

bike and scooter racks
We hope you have noticed the new bike and scooter racks by
the side of the Nursery, and the new Nursery parents waiting
shelter, which were installed during half term.
Hopefully this will help with easy access to the site from
both gates. Please can we remind parents not to access
or exit the site by foot through the car park. Many

Mrs Jakes welcomed Lily Grace into their lives on
Saturday 24th October. Many congratulations to

had a lovely end to the week when they presented the

Mrs White also had their baby on Thursday this week
- after keeping Mum and Dad waiting for a while.

Mr &
Mrs Slack won the new baby race at school by having
baby Harry on 13th October. Harry
weighed in at 5lb 3oz. Many congratulations to
both the new parents.

Eastern Fun Run
Well
done to all the children, parents and friends who
participated in the Fun Run on Sunday. There
was a great family and community feel about the
event which was enjoyed by runners and spectators
alike.

Caythorpe Wanderers return safely
The
Year 5 group returned safe and well, although very
tired, after a successful week of outdoor and
adventurous activities. Well done to all the
children and the adults that accompanied them

Assemblies
You
will have seen from the flier that we are holding
harvest assemblies next week, and the Salvation Army
will be distributing any produce we collect.
We we be happy to accept Harvest gifts from next
Monday, so many thanks. It was lovely hearing
the orchestra practising the hymns for the services,
and the children's wonderful singing in hymn
practice.

Walk
The
latest figures of the money coming in from the
sponsored walk is now £1500 - with still more to come in.
Well done everyone, this will really help support

Latest! Maths
Week Competition winners
Tom
won the closest estimate of the huge marrow - he
rightly estimated 11 kilos, whist Erin was exactly
right with her estimate of 104 conkers in the jar!
Lots of other prizes were also won, but most of all
the children shared some of the fun things they had
done last week. Well done Everyone!
Latest! Maths
Week
The
children and staff all had a lovely time doing fun
activities during Maths week. The week ended
with everyone have a Golden Games Hour...and we had
a variety of games from Monopoly, to mathematical
snap cards. All the children had great fun!


Latest! Year 1 Christening at St Andrews
The
whole year group celebrated a double christening,
for Chloe and Billy (the 2 dolls) at St Andrews as
part of their RE work.

Reverend
Gill talked to all the children about what happens
when babies get christened. Both Chloe and
Billy had parents and God parents as part of the
ceremony.

We welcomed a huge crowd of parents to see the work that
Year 2 have already done this term. It was lovely
to see everyone there. We hope you have found the

Latest! Sponsored Walk
The weather was fantastic for our sponsored walk when
children from Year 1 to Year 6 did laps of the field,
many supported by their parents and younger siblings.

Many parents also helped with counting the laps...and
enjoyed the sunshine.

Well done to Tom, Benjamin and Jessica who won the
raffle, drawn from all children who took part.

Latest! Sensory Garden
Mrs
Hughes and Mrs Dando have started displaying the
clay tiles each child made during Creativity week in
the Sensory Garden. Please have a look, but
not a touch. and see if you can find yours.

Can we
also remind parents not to allow children to climb
on the wooden structures in the garden? They are not
climbing frames and are not robust enough for
climbing or swinging on. Thank you.
Latest! Eco Schools Award
We are
really pleased that we have gained our Bronze Award.
We are now busy working towards our Silver one.
Well done to Mrs Hughes and her team.

Latest! Whittlesey Festival
Well
done to many of our pupils who took part in the
Whittlesey Festival on Sunday - the country dancers
and the choir entertained a big crowd at the
Buttercross.....


...and
some pupils had their art work on display as well.
A very well done to Lydia and Oliver who came first
and second in the primary section.
Mrs
Hughes and some of her Environmental Club manned a
stall which featured some of the clay work the
children has made to decorate the Sensory Garden.

Park
Lane also sent three scarecrows to the Scarecrow
festival in St Andrew's church... all with a strong
60's theme!
Latest! Assembly themes
We are
slightly changing our approach to school assemblies
this year by focussing on themes which support PSHE
in school. We will still be doing class
assemblies, but one of them in the year will
showcase the work the children are doing as a whole
Year group rather than be a polished performance.
We will send more details to parents about this
shortly.

Latest! Start of term
We
had a lovely day for the start of term, after the
wet and windy start! The children all looked
happy to be back, and were very smart in their
uniforms.
