Latest! Children In Need

The school raised £330 with the children's silver collection.  Many thanks for your support.

Kelsea, Zara, Yasmin and Chloe will raise a massive £170 if they keep silent all day....this will be a challenge for these chatterboxes!

We are all looking forward to filling Pudsey with silver coins for Children in Need.....have you raided your piggy bank yet?

Latest! WhitCo.Nect E-Safety meeting

Many thanks to those parents who attended the e-safety meeting at Alderman Jacobs this week. Parents found the evening informative and thought provoking.

Latest! Nursery

The Nursery children have enjoyed finding out about Diwali. We have made Rangoli patterns, made and tasted barfi and gone on a coloured diva lamp trail.

The Diwali dancing was fun and exciting.

Latest! Famous People Day

Year 2 had a fantastic time on Famous People Day when everyone dressed up as a famous person of their choice.

There were lots of fun activities throughout the day, including a catwalk and quiz.

Latest! Whittlesey Remembrance Day Parade

Toby and Kiera supported the school brilliantly at this weekend's Remembrance Day Parade.  Well done to both of them.

Latest! Nursery Sponsored Event & Tea Party

The children all successfully achieved the 6 Step Challenge and celebrated with a lovely tea party this week at school.

Lots of mums, dads, aunties, uncles, nannies and grandads all came to join in the fun. Fingers crossed we will have raised enough money to buy the children a fantastic outdoor role play area.  Thank you very much for your support.

Latest! New bike and scooter racks

We hope you have noticed the new bike and scooter racks by the side of the Nursery, and the new Nursery parents waiting shelter, which were installed during half term.  Hopefully this will help with easy access to the site from both gates.  Please can we remind parents not to access or exit the site by foot through the car park.  Many thanks.

Latest! Baby Jakes arrives

Mr & Mrs Jakes welcomed Lily Grace into their lives on Saturday 24th October.  Many congratulations to the family.

Latest! South Hall Super Stars

KS1 had a lovely end to the week when they presented the new South Hall Super Stars certificates in assembly.

Latest! FOPLS Children's Disco

Children from Reception upwards had a great time at the latest disco last Friday.  Thank you to FOPLS for organising these regular events.

Latest! Harvest Festival

We had two great Harvest Festival Celebrations in school this week.  Just look at the fantastic Harvest Table....

The Salvation Army came and collected the produce helped by Year 3 pupils.

Latest! More baby news

Mr & Mrs White also had their baby on Thursday this week - after keeping Mum and Dad waiting for a while.  Matilda Scarlett is a welcome sister for George.

Latest! Baby Slack

Mr & Mrs Slack won the new baby race at school by having baby Harry on 13th October.  Harry weighed in at 5lb 3oz.  Many congratulations to both the new parents.

Latest! Great Eastern Fun Run

Well done to all the children, parents and friends who participated in the Fun Run on Sunday.  There was a great family and community feel about the event which was enjoyed by runners and spectators alike.

The group that ran in memory of Jackie Hodge, and another friend Paul Skelton are shown here displaying their medals.  Click here to see some other Park Lane families in action.

Latest! Caythorpe Wanderers return safely

The Year 5 group returned safe and well, although very tired, after a successful week of outdoor and adventurous activities.  Well done to all the children and the adults that accompanied them

Latest! Harvest Assemblies

You will have seen from the flier that we are holding harvest assemblies next week, and the Salvation Army will be distributing any produce we collect.  We we be happy to accept Harvest gifts from next Monday, so many thanks.  It was lovely hearing the orchestra practising the hymns for the services, and the children's wonderful singing in hymn practice.

Latest! Sponsored Walk

The latest figures of the money coming in from the sponsored walk is now £1500 - with still more to come in.  Well done everyone, this will really help support reading resources for the school.  More news and a final figure later.

Latest! Maths Week Competition winners

Tom won the closest estimate of the huge marrow - he rightly estimated 11 kilos, whist Erin was exactly right with her estimate of 104 conkers in the jar!

Lots of other prizes were also won, but most of all the children shared some of the fun things they had done last week.  Well done Everyone!

Latest! Maths Week

The children and staff all had a lovely time doing fun activities during Maths week.  The week ended with everyone have a Golden Games Hour...and we had a variety of games from Monopoly, to mathematical snap cards.  All the children had great fun!

Latest! Year 1 Christening at St Andrews

The whole year group celebrated a double christening, for Chloe and Billy (the 2 dolls) at St Andrews as part of their RE work.

Reverend Gill talked to all the children about what happens when babies get christened.  Both Chloe and Billy had parents and God parents as part of the ceremony.

Latest! Access to the school site and safety

Can we remind you all to access and leave the school site by avoiding crossing the car park please?  Click here to download the brochure circulated to parents in March about this.

The good news is that the new cycle racks we are putting alongside North wing will be arriving at half term.

Latest! Year 2 Sharing Assembly

We welcomed a huge crowd of parents to see the work that Year 2 have already done this term.  It was lovely to see everyone there.  We hope you have found the information leaflet about school assemblies useful.  Click here to access the leaflet through the website.

Latest! Sponsored Walk

The weather was fantastic for our sponsored walk when children from Year 1 to Year 6 did laps of the field, many supported by their parents and younger siblings.

Many parents also helped with counting the laps...and enjoyed the sunshine.

Well done to Tom, Benjamin and Jessica  who won the raffle, drawn from all children who took part.

Latest! Sensory Garden

Mrs Hughes and Mrs Dando have started displaying the clay tiles each child made during Creativity week in the Sensory Garden.  Please have a look, but not a touch. and see if you can find yours.

Can we also remind parents not to allow children to climb on the wooden structures in the garden? They are not climbing frames and are not robust enough for climbing or swinging on.  Thank you.

Latest! Eco Schools Award

We are really pleased that we have gained our Bronze Award.  We are now busy working towards our Silver one.  Well done to Mrs Hughes and her team.

Latest! Whittlesey Festival

Well done to many of our pupils who took part in the Whittlesey Festival on Sunday - the country dancers and the choir entertained a big crowd at the Buttercross.....

...and some pupils had their art work on display as well.  A very well done to Lydia and Oliver who came first and second in the primary section.

Mrs Hughes and some of her Environmental Club manned a stall which featured some of the clay work the children has made to decorate the Sensory Garden.

Park Lane also sent three scarecrows to the Scarecrow festival in St Andrew's church... all with a strong 60's theme!

Latest! Assembly themes

We are slightly changing our approach to school assemblies this year by focussing on themes which support PSHE in school.  We will still be doing class assemblies, but one of them in the year will showcase the work the children are doing as a whole Year group rather than be a polished performance.  We will send more details to parents about this shortly.

Latest! New class pictures

New photographs of each class with their teacher can be found on the Resources page.  Nursery and Reception classes will be added when they're all back in school.

Latest! Start of term

We had a lovely day for the start of term, after the wet and windy start!  The children all looked happy to be back, and were very smart in their uniforms.

Click on the webcast tab to the left of this page to hear about the work your children will be doing this term.
